OFFICIAL: Barcelona Extend Frenkie de Jong’s Contract Until 2029

Barcelona have officially confirmed that Frenkie de Jong has signed a new contract that will keep him at the club until 2029.

The Dutch midfielder, who joined Barcelona from Ajax in 2019 for a transfer fee of €86 million, has become one of the most consistent and influential players in the team’s midfield. Since arriving at Camp Nou, De Jong has made 267 appearances, scored 19 goals, and provided 24 assists.

During his time with the club, he has played a key role in helping Barcelona secure:

🏆 Two La Liga titles

🏆 Two Copa del Rey titles

🏆 Two Spanish Super Cups

De Jong’s extension is seen as a major boost for Barcelona’s long-term project under head coach Hansi Flick. The club values his technical quality, leadership, and calm presence in midfield — all of which make him a cornerstone for the team’s future.

With this renewal, Barcelona fans can look forward to seeing De Jong continue wearing the Blaugrana colors for many years to come.
